Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on April 26th on the 26th of March, 1991. She is an American artist and songwriter, as well as the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. Her debut EP Pho, released was released on the 21st of October, 2016 and was released through Dreamville Records. Her career began to grow in recognition. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio album came out on May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox has released her music online since 2012 following the release of her first mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. The year 2014 saw her release more music via the Internet including Bound. The 21st of July, 2015 was the day she appeared on Omen's album Elephant Eyes in the song Sweat It Out. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew back then was interested in having her create Rihanna and Rihanna-related songs. Her announcement to be signed to Dreamville Records was made on the 8th day of December. She made an appearance on the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II featuring the track Backseat Cozz. Her Pho EP was released on her debut album on the 21st of October, 2016. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's song Change and performed as an opening act on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. In 2018, she was able to guest feature on two tracks with her labelmates EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on July 16, 2018, which was released on July 16th, 2018. A music video was then released in September. The 9th of November saw her release two singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. On the 13th of November two singles titled No One and pedigree. She appeared with Cole on The Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby the 16th of November 16and later she released the song in a solo version to the album she released her debut. A music video debuted 20 February 2019 in order to go along with the track. Within one time, it was viewed more than 3 million views. In December of 2018, she was an opening act for From East Atlanta With Love Tour. From East Atlanta With Love Tour together with 6LACK.
